On 15 April 2021, Hermès is delighted to open the doors of a new store located on the ground floor of Galaxy Macau.
This fourth store in Macau emphasises the ties Hermès has with the vibrant city and offers a convivial space where imagination takes shape in the sixteen métiers of the house. Macau possesses the complete fusion of traditional and modern culture, where leisure activities are accompanied by a picturesque architectural landscape.
The store unites a singular design identity that combines the singularity of the local culture with Hermès’ recognisable architectural codes, such as the signature Ex-Libris, the mosaic flooring inspired by the Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship store, and the Grecques lighting, which enhances the volume and layout of the space. The palette pays homage to the historic houses in the nearby Taipa village, painted in sun-faded greens and sunset pinks. These shades reappear in bespoke dégradé hand-woven carpets, leather seating, and in the green and jade cabochons that decorate the graphic black and white mosaic flooring that recalls traditional Portuguese tiles. The customised motif evolves in a gradient that amplifies the rhythm and dis-covery of the store.
The new Hermès store in Macau offers local customers and new visitors an enhanced retail experience in a welcoming environment with unique identity. It binds the city’s cultural legacy and contemporary exuberance with the Parisian house’s creativity and fine craftsmanship in an en-chanting dialogue.
