You can’t say you went to Avignon if you are not attending the festival d’Avignon.  

Every year between the beginning of July and the end of July, the city of Avignon can be said to have entered a crazy state. The small town of South France, which is always quiet at ordinary times, has an instant influx of more than 600,000 tourists from all over the world. The entire centre of Avignon is full of unimaginable performances. Music performance, drama, juggling, and painting are staged in every corner. You can dress up in a variety of roles as you like, no matter how pompous, funny, gorgeous, and horrible are all normal in Avignon in July.

And when you are in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong arts festival is also the place to look at.  

HKAF launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting leading local and international artists in all genres of the performing arts as well as a diverse range of “PLUS” and educational events in February and March each year. 

Presented by top international artists and ensembles across multiple genres, such as Western/Chinese opera, dance, theatre and large-scale events.
